It's whatever works best for you-- here's hoping you find something you like that is also good for bg! I've heard that the Lantus pen is especially difficult - it wasn't available when my daughter was still using Lantus. We only used the Novolog pens, and then the NovoPen Jr.

Wendy might be referring to me - we use the penfill cartridges for pump cartridge filling. I get more insulin for the same copay (1500 units in a box of cartridges as opposed to 1000 in a vial), and I like only having 300 units open at a time (each cartridge is 300 units - 5 per box). I also like the idea that if I drop it and it breaks, I've only lost 300 units as opposed to 1000. I leave one cartridge with the school nurse, can carry one around with me, etc. BTW, they aren't the actual PENS - the are the cartridges that go into the NovoPen Junior, which is refillable. So, that's the long story of why we do that. :)

I hope you find better success with your injections - I feel your frustration!Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10735108106224821900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001527982718639574.post-82207163701442289202009-10-13T15:44:21.655-05:002009-10-13T15:44:21.655-05:00Do you know that I was looking back at Cara's ...Do you know that I was looking back at Cara's numbers and there was two time that her numbers were perfect all day long. On those days Chris mom was watching her and I was SO mad I was thinking what the hell is she doing that I'm not? Then I figured it out she was using a syringe to give Cara her insulin because she does not know how to use the pens and we are using the pens. So we may be giving the pen up too!! We will see :)Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07233907890324278905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001527982718639574.post-5169100158271424472009-10-13T12:22:18.650-05:002009-10-13T12:22:18.650-05:00As for my post on frienshop~ We are already sistas...As for my post on frienshop~ We are already sistas and friends. We loved them, but Chrisotpher was much older than Jada. Maybe her little arm is just too small for them. You can pull insulin out of the pens with a syring. Just dial down the back after you pull the insulin out. :(Melissa's Thoughtshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01509544713395681769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001527982718639574.post-2675889839462590002009-10-12T07:37:51.880-05:002009-10-12T07:37:51.880-05:00I agree with you amy I hated those pens and dont t...I agree with you amy I hated those pens and dont think that they are better than syringes .I think you get so much more for your money . anyways I hope things get better .phoneladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15941892184117571313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001527982718639574.post-91431071024055248292009-10-12T00:54:03.716-05:002009-10-12T00:54:03.716-05:00Well, ya gave it an honest effort! (There's a rubber stopper on it somewhere.) She says you can actually get more for your money if you use pens as opposed to vials, but I'm not exactly sure why. I just remember her mentioning it a couple times.

Well, now you know. We learn as we go and everyone's experience is different. I guess that's that.

Next?Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05977082081187891403noreply@blogger.com
